FROM THE GREYHOUND / TRAILWAYS / PETER PAN BUS STATION
Walk 3 blocks to New York Avenue Metro Station and take the Red Line train toward Shady Grove. Exit at Metro Center and take the 11th Street exit. Walk three blocks North on 11th Street (about 10 minutes) to HI-DC, just North of K Street.

Take the Circulator bus going toward Georgetown. Exit at the intersection of 11th Street, NW and K Street, NW. HI-DC is in ½ block North on K Street.

After staying at another DC hostel for 4 days, I was disappointed that I hadn\'t booked my entire trip at HI.The linens were clean and smelled fresh.The rooms had locks, the breakfast was delicious, the staff was perfect, and the other guests were pleasant. I\'m middle-aged, but that didn\'t seem to bother anybody.Wish I\'d have been able to travel when I was young, but couldn\'t. My stay at HI was very enjoyable. Kristy, from USA ~ 31st May 2012

Hostelling International in DC is average on basically all accounts, except for location.Be sure to bring your own lock and be prepared to wait lengthy periods for the antiquated elevator to arrive.Most of the bedding seemed to be relatively clean and our roommates were nice enough.John in the kitchen/cafeteria was very nice, but most staff is rotating and semi-competent so be sure that you know what you\'re looking for and what to expect and be sure to request services if you require them.
