Hostels in Denmark
Currently, Hostels.com works with 8 hostels in Denmark. DANHOSTEL is the organisation that looks after many of Denmark's hostels. These hostels are either privately or publicly owned, with the number of privately owned hostels increasing. Around 100 Danish hostels are covered by DANHOSTEL.
Hostels here are often referred to as 'Vandrerhjem'. This relates back to when hostels in Denmark were a lot more focused on self-catering. In fact, some hostels still impose an extra charge if you don't clean your own room before departure. However, this practice is becoming more and more unusual.
Sleeping bags are not allowed in Danish hostels but you can rent bed linen on the premises, if it isn't already included in the price.
