Overall it is a nice hostel. I had fun there, except someone got really drunk the other night and made a lot of noise

The Adelaide Hostel San Francisco was fantastic, more like a small hotel really with a great free breakfast of English muffins, fresh croissants, toast fruit preserves, great coffee and for Brits like me real good english tea and fresh ground coffee.
The lobby where all guests can hang out has a fireplace lots of comfortable sofas and free wifi a great place to hang out and make new friends.
I had a great time the Adelaide Hostel San Francisco which was simply the best hostel I have ever stayed in.

The 4-person male bedroom is very small, but the door locks, and it's pretty quiet. The common spaces are much better. There's a small TV room, a large/quiet reading and laptop using room, and a more energetic TV/dining room where most of the socializing takes place.
Breakfast is very minimal, but it exists and has flexible hours. There's the occasional dinner available for a small fee.

This place is simply the best in San Francisco. The staff are so lively and friendly. There is constant comotion during the day, and they are always interacting with the residents. Their good humor rubs off on all of the people staying in the Hostel, and it really forms more of a family feel than anything else. Free breakfasts are more like times to get to know eachother, and they sometimes host feasts in the evening where everyone helps cook, and then we all eat.
A great choice, and the second cheapest. I have stayed at the cheaper, and trust me, the three dollars more is MORE than worth it!

the only complaint I had with the hostel was the lack of hot water in the showers, even very early in the morning. On a cold San Fran day this was most upsetting!

The bathrooms are one-person-at-a-time, which is a nice change from some of the places I've stayed in. Not much waiting to get a shower, either. Generally a very nice place, clean enough, didn't see anything gross. *Very* nice common room and kitchen. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. The whole neighborhood smells like a liniment factory, and there are tons of panhandlers around, but if you're keen on San Francisco, I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay.
