The place was great for the price! The staff was friendly and helpful and everything was very clean. There was a little bit of street noise at night..but for $30/person for a private room, it's pretty hard to complain.

The best hostel I have stayed at, I have been travelling for a year now and normally hostels will tick one or two of the boxes. The Adelaide has it all, great, helpful, friendly staff, a beautiful location, great condition. It also has big rooms, great dining hall and just all the little home comforts that make you not miss home! There is no competition to this place.

We were booked in at the Adelaide hostel but when we arrived were told our room was actually over at the Dakota hotel around the corner. That was fine with us as the room was big and clean, had our own TV and bathroom. Don't know what the rooms at the Adelaide were like but the lounge area was very nice with the couches and fireplace.

The hostel is in a great location, but is tricky to find in a small alley off the street. The staff were always helpful and friendly.

Very nice hostel with about everything you can ask for. Clean, secure with nice large common area and friendly staff. Little hard to find at first, and close to tenderloin, but once found, location is great and nice base to see the city from.

The private rooms are not in the same building. The are isolated and the common rooms are in the main building.

It was a great location, a nice walk to just about anywhere and very close to the BART station. The staff seemed to be friendly, but no one ever introduced themselves to me, which would have made me feel more at home.

Great Friendly staff in the Dakota part of the hotel where I was staying - I didn't have time to thank the girl on reception as I had to dash for my shuttle - thank you for arranging things for me you were great. A good friendly place to stay, I made some great friends there. Also brilliant location. Very old but lots of character. I am back at work in New Zealand now.
