This hostel is in an excellent location, very convenient to popular sites and buses and subway lines. Proprietor Lou was very welcoming. Accomodations were quite clean. Breakfast kitchen was very clean and well-stocked. I stayed here with a 12-year-old and a 6-year-old; other families were also in residence. I would definitely stay at American Dream again.

Clean and very secure. Helpful staff. Breakfast included variety of cereals and breads available from 8-12. Shared baths but rarely have to wait. Shops pharmacy and retaurants nearby.

The place looks clean, but I asked for 2 twin beds and got 1 bunk bed, also they should advise the room is on the 3rd floor, this place is for young people, the service was OK, but I wouldn't go back there again.

This was a very comfortable place for my daughter and me to stay while we explored New York for fun and while she searched for a place to live when she returns for school this fall. The proprietor and staff were very accommodating and friendly, making us feel most welcome. Mornings at the breakfast table were especially enjoyable chatting with visitors from around the world.

We had a great experience at American Dream Hostel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms, bathrooms, bedlinens and kitchen were clean, and the location is excellent.

It looked clean but later on we realised that it was infested with giant cockroaches-YUUUUUUUUUKKK!!! We just hoped that we did not took back them in our bags.

i can just recomment this hostel. location absolut perfect (direct in manhattan and close to the subway and bus), staff absolutely nice (greetings to perry), fantastic hostel breakfast, the rooms are clean and nice, but dont forget it is a hostel so dont expect a star hotel) and you will meet a lot of nice people there. so i will check in next time again in americandreamhostel
