Great location. Few minutes walk to the BART, fancy stores, and Chinatown. The private room we were assigned didn't really have a view but its great that they painted the brick wall with a "Welcome to San Francisco" blimp in a the blue sky :) Beds can be uncomfortable but bearable. Only problem was that the bathroom door was partially broken. If you are planning to use the lockers in the room, bring a combination lock. I would come back to this hostel.

great to have free towels. Free internet very difficult to get on. Would probably be worth having a pay-for internet available for those who are happy to pay.

This is the best hostel I've ever stayed at, very clean, spacious, lots of activities, free breakfast waffles, movienights, free internet (both wifi & stationary) and superfriendly and helpful staff! Location also perfect, very close to Union Square, I have nothing to complain about!
The location of this hostel was excellent, right near union square and in walking distance to all attractions. The rooms were big and clean. The free breakfast and internet were excellent. We had a great stay in San Francisco.

The hostels.com description says "Security Lockers - In Room", which was not the case for my room.

Amsterdam Hostel has moved us to mithila hotel because the run out of rooms for our booked time and said that this is a deluxe upgrade but the room and atmosphere at this hotel was very poor. If this was an deluxe upgrade from the amsterdam hostel, i don't want to stay at amsterdam hostel at all.
