I loved staying at the Avalon house, though I wish I didn't have to keep holding a button down in order to get water in the shower... This was the perfect place to stay and I am definitely planning a trip there again!

You should close the upper windows from the rooms > not everyone likes light in the night, when he/she will sleep !!!

Overall, the value and location was great. The room, although tiny, was clean. The only issue I had was that the heat didn't work, and although I told the staff 4 times (over 3 days) and they told me they would get it fixed, it was never fixed. SO I had a freezing room in January, which I dealt with by using my sleeping bag in addition to the blankets provided. Overall, great value, if the heat had worked

Great location, we never took a bus or cap our whole stay. The rooms and bathrooms are nice and clean with nice white linen a good hotel wouldn't mind using. Not amazingly comfy beds, but I don't really know if that was the beds themselves or the fact that we both tried to squeeze into one bed (no double beds in the double rooms, only twins. Nailed to the wall... :( ). The breakfast wasn't really worth cheering for either, but still, it's a great hostel, you get what you pay for and then some.

First hostel I've ever been to and a very nice one. Friendly staff, useful tourist info, decent beds, hot water, free internet. My only complaint was that you have to keep pushing the button to make the shower go on, but at least the pressure was high. Would go back again.

This hostel was... decent. It has a wonerful reputation, but other than the locatoin I'm not sure why. The rooms were moderately clean and slightly cramped. The showers and bathrooms were not so clean, just one on each floor for men and woman to share.
