We must admit that we had read some rather terrible reviews about the BandB Rota, none of which we found were true. The place has just been renovated, with new carpets etc and was clean as a whistle. It didn't have some of the trimmings we had had in other hostels in Italy, such as internet in the room and movie channel tv etc, but certainly was better than most hostels we have stayed in. We have no hesitation recommending this place. We were there in Winter keep in mind, it maybe hot in summer. Great Chinese restaurant down stairs as well as some other great eating places close by. Very close to one of the best fish markets going, so fresh seafood abounds.

Very good service provided by the staff and very good rooms for such low prices. A definite bargain for those looking for a place in the heart of Venice.

This place was ok. You´d expect more for the price you pay, but Venice is very expensive so it wasn´t that unreasonable.

Best location. Very clean rooms and bathroom fairly clean too. Dont expect to sleep in in the mornings though, the shops below are quite noisy both at night and early in the morning.

Booking had been messed up, took a while to sort out then they refused to help store our luggage on our day of departing. You may not actually be staying at the same place that is being advertised, we were taken to another property a few minutes away!!

It is a nice place with familiar atmospheare. You can cook...and you feel like in a kind of flat. I recomend it for over 25 years travellers

There is nothing extra for comfort, hominess or cultural flavor. Basically, it was clean enough and safe enough. The location is superb and well worth putting up with any minor annoyances we may have had with the room. We had a room with a private bath so I cannot comment on the shared facilities. Our stay was over a week-end so our cost was over $100 US per night. Any place but Venice I would have expected A LOT more, but considering the going rate of accomodation I think we did OK. The location is ideal for exploring Venice and the room was reasonably quiet. Breakfast was a cappuccino and a croissant. Not too bad. I would sum up B&B Rota thus: It is a place to sleep. Period. Ultimately, we will probably stay there again when we return to Venice.
