party people stay away from here cos it\'s quite a rigorous environment. some of the guests are permanent, most of them are elderly who have been housed over there. it\'s a serene place, i met at breakfast some sweet old ladies who deeply touched my heart. excellent value for the money spent!

Thought it a bit strange when they told me to use the bathroom closest to me because it was a co-ed floor, even when I asked about a women's bathroom because the one closest to me said "men's" on the door.

I had a great time in Boston, in no small part thanks to the really helpful staff at Berkeley Residence! It was so easy to get around from where I was staying. I ended up being out a little later than I thought one night, but had no trouble finding my way back and felt totally safe! Thanks so much!

I have stayed at many, many hostels throughout Europe and a few in the US and I was extremely disappointed in this hostel. The location was pretty out of the way, but Boston is pretty small so it\\\'s easily walkable. The building and rooms were clean though, which was definitely good. But the people who worked in the hostel were unhelpful, unaccommodating and rude. If you are looking for a hostel that is literally just a bed, then this is your place. Otherwise, find alternate arragnements.

A tidy place, not far away from the center. The wifi is a bit shaky in the evening but is otherwise accessible (in the 2nd floor at least). This is a good place to stay if you want to avoid noise and big crowds.

Great location in a fun, trendy area of Boston, with lots of great shopping, museums, and restaurants nearby. 5 blocks from the T (metro transport). Staff was very nice and helpful, they gave good directions. Shared bathroom was ok, could have been cleaner. I'm not used to hostels having permanent residents, many older people are there. The breakfast was ok, but not many fresh food selections. 7-11 across the street is convient. It's expensive for a hostel, but then again, this is Boston. Wasn't a really "fun" atmosphere, but it was quiet.

This was my first ever experience at staying at a hostel before. Overall, it was a very satisfactory hostel - nothing extraordinary, but not a bad experience either. The room was nice and clean, the bed very comfortable (the pillow was GREAT!), and the bathrooms were clean too. My only criticism was that there seemed to be an odd smell - I think it was old cigarette smoke?

Perfect place to stay if you just want somewhere to sleep and relax - if you're looking for community, maybe try somewhere else. The only problem we had was finding it - could do with better directions.
