Ercole was an excellent host and guide. His advice and suggestions were spot on. We would reccomend he puts his Top 10 onto a single A4 sheet (back and front) for visitors to carry with them throughout the day - with best local resturaunts, pizzas etc as well as places in the city centre. Information such as being charged double for sitting down in cafes was invaluable The hostel is in a great location, with the nearby church a great identifying feature, and also being so close to the train station It's a superb hostel for couples - hotel style room for a slightly increased hostel price Would definitely go back Michael and Clare

I chose Blue Hostel for my boyfriend and I to stay at for our weekend trip to Rome, after reading many reviews for a hoard of hostels online. This one got SO many positive reviews, I booked immediately! Everyone couldn't have been more right about Blue Hostel!!!!!!! Ercole is such a nice, down-to-earth guy who will meet you at the train station at your arrival and take you a few blocks to the hostel. It's in a really quiet area near Santa Maria Maggiore church, with a bank, supermarket, and many cafe's just out the door. Great location. Being in the company of only other double rooms, we experienced quiet nights and restful sleep and were so happy with the service. The room was extremely clean and the bathroom was amazing! We felt like royalty for a weekend, and we got such amazing customer service as well. Ercole gave us some helpful tips and was more than willing to take our luggage for us until the afternoon when we departed. All in all, I don't think we would have gotten this type of care and cleanliness and personal attention in any place but BLUE HOSTEL! Next time we go to Rome, I know we'll be back!

Wonderful place to base yourself in Roma. Ercol was great, met us at the station, gave us a map and told us what we could fit in during our quick two day visit. Walking distance to everything you need to see! Quiet & private - we would definitely go back!

great for couples, and anyone who wants to stay in a peacful, yet central area of Rome and have a few comforts of home after a hard days sight seeing! Ercole was a great host and made everything easy with the meet up at the station. i would definitely recommend blue hostel to you. Alex and Maria

This hostel would rate highly against a hotel. It is really more of a rented guest room. Room was exactly as you see in the pictures, clean and spacious, plus a kettle, tea/coffee, fridge, TV and large en-suite. I could easily give the hostel 100% but I want to empahsise an outstanding host (Ercole) and that it is very close to everything that you might need. Perfect for couples - if you fly ryanair get a bus transfer ticket on the plane (e8, or e13.50 return). Ercole meets you at the station that the bus drops you off at within 10 mins of the phone call and 10 minutes later you are being shown around your room. It isn't a big noisy hostel, there were only 3 rooms, and as it is ideal for couples there are no disturbances. We didn't see anyone else. Ercole gave us the low donwn on some local restaurants and where to visit - which was very helpful. I would definitely recommend the Blue Hostel to anyone visinting Rome.
