Definitely recommending it to my friends, and will likely stay there next time I'm in New York. Perfect for young travellers!

I really had a great stay. It's not the first time I go to NY but the first time at this hostel and compare to others I went to, this one was the best.

We were actually in the building next door. One bathroom for 10 people just isn't enough/

I was a little bit disapointed considering the high ratings and reviews. It has a excellent locatation and is clean. The dorms don't include towels, the small common area are not good for meeting others, and the bathroom, although nice, didn't look like it was installed correctly. Long sink, shower wall seemed to be at a slight angle while the shower head wouldn't stay connected to the wall. Overall these are minor things and it was a good stay, just don't expect anything special.

Fun place. Be prepared to ring security 4, 5 times before someon answers your call to enter. be prepared to carry your bags up one flight of stairs to rec desk and then if you are in 302 (like me) carry them back down, into 302 building and carry them up 2 more flights of stairs. Fun garden/patio to drink yr coffee. Already booked for NYE Dec 31, so be prepared to book v v early if you want a bed for 3 Dec 08

Great group while I was there, fun, interesting, etc. Security was pretty good until my last couple days when my iPod went missing. Yet I left my computer in my bag without any problems. The staff was prone to throwing things out that belonged to people. Otherwise, it was a decently secure and fun place to sleep and hang for a week.

the staff was very welcoming and helpful, the location is great, and for that price (the dorm room) - i believe it's the best choice! (beyond that, the rooms were clean, but there weren't any special activities or common nice areas to meet the other guests; but activities are never the problems in NY.)

I wasn't expecting much as it was a $30 per nite hostel. The reason I picked this one was because of the location. It was a great choice! The location is perfect. It was a lot cleaner than I expected too. I ended up getting a private room with the shared bath instead of the 10 person dorm. I didn't spend much time at the hostel as it was a busy weekend. There was always staff in sight and working or cleaning. My room was always clean even the rest rooms were clean! The staff helped me get the private room upgrade checking in and directions to the airport checking out. I'd have to say on a 1-10 scale it was a 9. The room was small with no remote for the tv. At 3-3:30 am people were still on the street corner yelling which I could hear through my window. Nothing my MP3 player & headphones couldn't cure. I would stay there again.
