DO NOT STAY HERE! This should not even be on Hostelworld as it is NOT for backpackers. It is in a well-known (to locals) crack area and I left after 1 night despite paying for 2 nights because they don't give refunds. Homeless people and local crackheads stay here, it is not safe. It's also massively overpriced. For this accomodation you should be paying $10 a night, not close to $30. PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE!

I stayed in almost every single hostel in San Francisco. This one was by far the WORST. They didn't have a credit card machine, so I had to pay in cash. They didnt give me bedding, I had to ask for it. There were rats and mice in the room all night long(luckily I was on the top bunk). There also people living here. It was more like a homeless shelter that you had to pay for.... DO NOT stay at this hostel.

do not stay here! I repeat, do not stay here! the place is filthy, and the stuff is not nice. I made the reservation, went there and stayed 10 min in the room. it was so filthy and disgusting the whole place. not to mention you can hear people having sex. even before going to the room, I asked the guy if I can cancel my reservation and he said no. I left the place after 10 min and went and sleep at Days inn. it's work paying 20$ more and stay at the days inn ny the oakland airport.

Great staff, good rooms and the location was fantastic. Long term residents were very friendly and interesting as well. Only complaint: There was something in the bed that gave me these terrible little flea-like bites all over.

This is the sketchiest hostel I have every stayed in. They didn't have my reservation when I checked in, but they had plenty of dorm beds. Gave me an extra flat sheet to use as a pillowcase because they had no other clean linens (when I checked in at 8pm). Man who said he "snuck in" was asleep in the room I was assigned to which was supposed to have been empty. Had to jiggle doorkey on average three minutes to get it to turn every time I locked or unlocked the door. When requested new key, tried it and was just as bad. Upon request of a different key was told there were only two keys to this 6-bed dorm room. Room was filthy.

When I stayed there I got my food stolen everyday. It wasn't much, but very anoying when my milk and ketchup was nearly empty and one day my two hot dogs were gone. The kitchen was kinda dirty. There was no window (glass was gone) in one of the bathrooms, so it got really cold at nights. The guy that cooked dinner everyday was very nice and made everyone more than welcome. The location was a bit far out and it took about 15 minutes to walk downtown.
