We loved the neighborehood, the swimmingpool and the lively buzz. Sanitair was clean, breakfast very filling and the bed good, though the room was very dusty!

Low-end hostel. You get an inexpensive single room there, and the description of facilities in the right column (breakfast, towels, linen, reception 24hrs) is accurate, while the general description text and photo are (by design?) very misleading. Most rooms are obviously not "deluxe". Mine (4th floor) had no spectacular view, no table lamp, no armchair, no painting, no TV, no flowers. Instead, carpet and chair were stained, chair and drawers were worn, the overall appearance was shabby. The showers on the 4th floor were out of service, toilets blocked. 2nd floor was better, though, so I went to the bathrooms there. Well, I guess, that's NY. The staff behaved acceptable. The first room assigned to me was filled with a strong urine stench, on my complaint they got me another one without ado. The topmost linen and the towel were clean. The breakfast in a nearby Diner was fine.

Hi All! Brooklyn is not a very safe part of NY, but the police department is on the other side of the street :-) The price is okay, but the cleanness is very poor!!! The breakfast was fantastic :-)) We would NOT recommend it! Take care!

it was a bit far out but subway fine to get there and back. For the price it was super. Loved the breakfast venue as was part of the experience of real new york and locals, food good too, for a cafe.

Gymn + pool privileges, + free breakfast, can't be beat. Don't forget a swim cap, required + not available in surrounding drug stores or front desk. And generous tip money for free diner breakfast: classic bantering, tough waitresses, good morning theater. Only one part of 4th floor has "river views", but rooms are cute enough, mint green or hot pink curtains impressed this traveler. Acoss from a police precinct and neighborhood is full of handsome Polish men and has good pastry shops, great to find one open on a rainy 3am block + a half walk back from subway.

The hostel has a great workout facility and is in the middle of a Polish neighborhood that has wonderful charm and many little shops. Great location to view the NYC Marathon!!

No good place if you want to socialize as there is no common room. I had a single and the value for money considering NY prices is o.k. Location was fine for me - with the metro it takes about 20 min. to the central station. Don´t expect any type of information from the staff at the desk - they feel in charge of fitness club not of tourists.
