The building is very run down. Although the linen is changed regularly and the bathrooms are tollerable, unfortunately we shared our room with two little mice and on one occasion a dead bird that I found in the back of the closet. The carpet in the corridors is a worn and very dirty grey colour that hides a multitude of sins, including mouse droppings. Unfortunately we had our 18 month old daughter with us and she was far to little to understand not to put her hands in her mouth after picking things up off the carpet. I'm afraid to say that when I told the staff about the mice the response was "yeah, well, if they're in your room they're gonna be in every room". A fair point but it doesn't solve the problem, does it? The manager reluctantly gave us a cash refund for one night out of 7, but we had to fight for it to be cash, because all though they ask for a cash payment THEY refund by check, and it normally takes 60 days. Not impressed guys, not impressed at all.

Except for the noisy mouse in our (really small) room, everything was great at the Y... We'll come back whenever we're back in NY!
