this hostel is basic and near most historical sites just 20 minute walk. Other traveler were friendly. I would come back to this hostel for sure.

It was a perfect stay.You can go everywhere by foot.U dont need to take subway or bus.It is secure.There is no elevator but u can manage it.There are a lot of things to do.If u need help,the stuff is always ready to help u .

Awesome location. Great facilities. Very clean and well kept. I normally stay at 4 star hotels, but wanted to experience the "adventure" of Hostel life before getting married. I was very impressed! The staff was incredibly helpful and acted as a great resource. Additionally, because the location is so close to the subway station, it was simple getting around the city and to and from the airport. All in all, this girl from Santa Monica, CA recommends STAYING AT H.I. BOSTON DOWNTOWN!!!

Some of the bathrooms were run-down. The chairs in the common eating area are dirty beyond belief- they should have been thrown out a long time ago. Otherwise, a nice place, and the fact that they give a towel and shower shoes is a plus.

Not great, but you haven't got a massive choice of hostels in Boston. Not much atmosphere in the place, although they do organise a lot of activities. Staff were very helpful. Cleanliness was also a bit sketchy; showers were often dirty and my mate got bitten by fleas.

great location close to the 'T' and the nightlife of Back Bay, and good facilities (computers / tv room / wifi etc). some showers are better than others, but most are generally OK. the negative would be that it suffers from the common H.I. problem of being too big and impersonal. overall though would recommend this hostel
