best place to stay in Boston - great spot, nice dorms, hot water, friendly people - and one of te best prices going in Boston

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is right by Fenway Stadium and is a block away from the T (metro system). Lots of good restaurants in this neighborhood. Room was in ok (not great) condition, and blankets were too thin, but that's ok, it's what you expect of a hostel (which is actually a Boston Univ. dorm during the school year). Lounge has a big screen TV and pool table. Good bang for your buck in Boston.

I stayed in room 513 and the water did not drain from the tub when I was showering. This made the shower a far less attractive place for the fellow hostelers who followed me

Considering there are only two hostels in Boston we can't be too picky or critical. The $100 lost key fee is outrageous and borders on criminal. My bed was not made when I checked in. With only three beds in my room and a bathroom en suite, you could say it's the most exclusive hostel in the world(it's really Boston University student housing during the school year)

We were disappointed on arrival to have twin beds, not a double. But happy with everything else.

I was a little dissapointed to be honest. We knew it was going to be a budget place, but I didn\'t realise I was going to have to remove the huge metal curtain rods from my bed, request sheets and pillows, wear flip flops at all times because the floor had gum stains and whatever else on it. I too was once a college student living in dorms, but mine were never like that...it was like living in the middle of \'animal house\'.

We arrived at HI Fenway and were given keys to another person's room which shows what poor security it has. Although we ordered a double room, we were given a room with 3 single beds, really uncomfortable and damp. The walls had hairs all over them and there was rubbish under the beds from previous occupants. However the bathroom was clean enough and it is in a really good good location along with Boston being a brilliant city so if you are going to be out all day it might be ok but I would still look around for somewhere else if I returned because an average hotel probably wouldn't be that much dearer
