This is a great hostel. Its clean, it has great character. The staff was excellent and very helpful. However the location was not very good at all. I felt unsafe at night as soon as I stepped out of the hostel.

There is only one socket in the bathroom, which is pretty inconvenient.

Really comfortable hostel - ensuite bathrooms were a real luxury. My only complaint is that the mattresses were not very comfortable
The linen, room and toilet all are clean and the breakfast are good also. Everything is perfect, but we saw a little mouse in our room 610 the last day of our trip. We told the staff and hope they could catch it. Although, we did enjoy the hotel very much.^_^

Lots of Homeless in Ellis St and Surrounds. Made area feel unsafe due to the excessive beggers around the Hostel

Hostel was nice and clean, location is central however its in a dodgy street with lots of homeless people around and it makes you feel dirty walking up and down it. The hostel itself once you're inside is warm and you feel safe!! Good place to stay while you're in San Fran :)

Hostel is nicely maintained, clean and just plain nice to stay in. Not in the best area of the city. Sometimes felt uncomfortable walking back to the hostel at darker times of the day. I was never really bothered by residents of the area though. Hostel is very clean, housekeeping staff really take their jobs seriously. Beautiful area of the city just north of the hostel with a lot of great looking restaurants.
