I would say one of the best HI hostels in the US.

This is the hub of San Francisco, the connections to everywhere you want to see. It's at your doorstep. Fantastic views and friendly people, can't ask for anything more!

I was very impressed with the conditions and facilities of the hostel. I will return here again, when business brings me to the Fort Mason area.

Great location, close to all the tourist locations. Free breakfast is actually only two waffels or one bagel, so plan on eating something else later. Pier 39 actually has a few places that serve breakfast. We recommend purchasing a lock for your storage under you bed. Men's restroom has both individual showers and group showers. This was my second time staying there and I'm sure I'll find myself staying there again!

This is a very beautiful setting, probably the most beautiful site in San Francisco and it is available to the regular traveler.
