THIS IS TRULY AN AMAZING PLACE TO STAY. NOT ONLY IS IT LOCATED RIGHT NEXT TO KIYOMIZU TEMPLE (ONE OF KYOTO'S BEST SIGHTS) BUT IT'S ALSO INCREDIBLY COMFORTABLE AND PLEASANT. THE JAPANESE OWNER, EIMI (PRONOUNCED "AMY") IS VERY NICE AND HELPED US GET SETTLED INTO KYOTO. THERE'S ALSO FREE INTERNET, A FAMILY ROOM TO RELAX, AND EVEN HOT TOAST WHEN YOU WAKE UP IN THE MORNING! WE WOULD DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN.

This is one of the cleanest and friendliest Ryokan's I've ever stayed in. I felt like I was staying with a family. Thank you very much!

The hostess was an excellent assitance for planning our visit to the city. She was always welcoming. The room was very tidy and we enjoyed the traditional ryokan very much!

It was wonderful experience staying at this hostel. The host was very nice and knowledgeable about Kyoto. She provided a lot of useful information about bus passes and sites to visit (better than the tourist center in Kyoto Station). The hostel was very well kept and had clean bathrooms and showers. It was nice to be able to leave our luggage with the hostel on checkout day so we could continue touring Kyoto without having to lug them around. My only complaint was that it was hard to find good directions to the hostel from the train station and took us more that the estimated 10 minute walk.

Very nice! Good hospitality. A bit difficult for my father who is almost 83 and not use to "Japanese style" living but the added assistance was super. Excellent location! I can't wait to go back again!

I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the hospitality. The owners create a warm and friendly environment with lots of good information to help get oriented. The accomodations were great as well. Soft beds and a hot shower were really great after the long days at the shrines. Pillows a tad on the hard side I must say. Japanese style!! Overall the best value in Kyoto!! My Japanese girlfriend and I both loved it. We really felt at home. Met some nice other travellers too!
