We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hanakiya Inn. The owner is very warm and friendly and helpful! Our room was a very nice traditional style Japanese room with good shared shower and bathroom facilities. The Inn itself is in a quiet spot and is excellently located for accessing many of the temples and shrines in Eastern Kyoto. The bus stop is not very far away and you can buy daily passes from the owner. I would definitely stay here again!

We got a very warm welcome here. The hostel is an authentic Japanese Inn and is immaculate inside. The hostel is located in a beautiful little village. It is a 15-20 minute walk to Kyoto centre

A charming atmosphere with lovely hosts. Recommend it to anyone wanting caring and helpful hosts. My daughter and I loved Eimi and her husband and children. we loved the Ryoken style and the warm hospitality of this wonderful family. very personal and intimate accomodation and facilities.

Our stay was very pleasant. it is a very good address to stay and enjoy Kyoto.
The hostel is next to Kiyomizu Temple,therefore in a highly touristical and nice place. It is also really very easy to reach by bus from many locations, such as Kyoto Station, touristic locations. Everything makes this place ideal to whom wants to visit the city. The staff is kind, helpful, in brief, it is the perfect place to stay in Kyoto.

An excellent value for money and the owner of the inn is an excellent hostess who speaks English and will always be prepared to help you and give suggestions about what to do in Kyoto and surroundings. Of course, this is a JAPANESE style in, so you need to be prepared to adapt yourself to OTHER comfort standards.
