Very dirty bathroom. Very old furniture which doesn't look clean. Three rooms, one bathroom. The picture of room on the internet is much much better than the one we got. They have two buildings, one is I think better equiped (newer) than the one we stayed in. Anyway I think that is very poor for the town like Vienna in country with the best life standard in Europe.

We stayed in two rooms. The first room was dirty but the next room was clean and well kept. The staff members were nice and helpful. Close to the subway.

The main building is now under the summer renovation and we live in a private appartment of the HappyHostel, with balcon from which you can see the hills around the city, very clean and feel homelike, cooking is possible;1 min from the trams and subway station, near the Westbahnhof; warmful accomadation. Very nice place except a little noise at night because the appartment is located beside a main street.

My girlfriend and I had a double bed room, well I say room, it was more like an apartment with a kitchen and bathroom. Amazing room for the price. We felt safe and secure and Franz and his staff are very helpful and speak good english. Location is ideal, right in the shopping district and 15 min walk to the sites. Highly recommend it for a couple on a brief stop.

This place is perfect if you are looking for local flavor away from the crowds and noise of the city. It's a short walk to one of the train stations so we spent the days enjoying the city and in the evenings came back to our quite apartment to relax and unwind. The rooms were larger than we expected. We got the ensuite (private bath) and it also came with a huge bedroom small eating area and kitchen (there was no stove, but the hotplate was sufficient) complete with dishes and cookware. The staff was very nice and accomodating and in our case, there was always someone on hand who spoke English. There is a local restaurant around the corner with very good food, cheap prices and some outside seating so you can watch the passerbys. The proprietor also speaks English and will sit and talk with you. The location and design of Happy Hostel makes you feel more like a local and less like a tourist. This was our first experience with a hostel, and had heard all the horror stories, but our experience could not have been better. This is probably not the best place if you want to party in your hostel and meet lots of other hostel dwellers. It is the best if you have a family, want to spend quite time with those traveling with you, or like your hotel to be a quite oasis where you can unwind and prepare for the next excursion. As for me and my husband, we plan to make many more trips to Vienna and HappyHostel will always be our first choice.

The staff at Happy Hostel were all very friendly and helpful and our room was great - spacious and comfortable with plenty of windows to let in the cool air. We would recommend the hostel to anyone.

The hostel is quiet and crammed into an old building. Only one member of the staff spoke english. It is right next to the train station though.
