i stayed for only one night, arrived late but the lady was still very accomodating. Clean and fresh sheets and no checkout time. i'd spend another night there no worries

Its location is excellent. The owner or Host lady never clean the property. I stayed there for 4 days, she did not even sweep the floor or clean the bathroom. Couple of people stayed for 2 weeks and since his staying, the owner or host person never clean at all. The bathroom is very very very dirty. Though its property relatively new. The owner is helpful but does not do her most important work- cleaning. Or at least she can hire someone to clean it. Recommend it to some one who want som

This place is apparently just over a year old and I am almost certain they have NEVER cleaned this place. It has nice hardwood floors and a good set up and probably would be a great hostel if it had ever been cleaned. There is a grime throughout the bathroom and trash throughout every place else. On the plus side, I found an abandoned umbrella which I used later on amidst all the crap everyone had left behind.

I like the Hongdae Guesthouse very much. First, the location is perfect. It is very closed to subway. Also, there is a big university near the guesthouse, so you'll enjoy night life as well. The staff is so helpful. She is very nice, so you can always ask her about where to go in Seoul. Cleanliness is an only problem, but I would like to recommend this guesthouse.

I stayed here for one night, but I probably wouldn't stay any longer if I had to. The bathroom was very dirty compared to some of the hostels I have stayed at in Asia. 8 people share one bathroom and it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. She let me check-in 4 hours earlier than I said I would be checking in, so that was a plus.

Super-convenient location (easy to find, easy to get back to after a night out), close to several restaurants and bars, right on top of the subway, nice & friendly staff.

An awesome place to stay if you like pubs and clubs. The owner was very helpful and really went out of her way to make us feel at home.

The room was run down and not clean. Their wasn't enough bedding for all the beds and the ondol flooring didn't work all we had was a tiny plug in heater. One of the ladders on the bunk bed was broken and the ladder going up to the loft was positivly dangerous! I would call it an accident waiting to happen. There was a cold draught from the window and the window coverings didn't keep out the light. I wouldn't come back unless they fixed these things. The kitchen was very dirty as was the t

I would say the Hongdae Guesthouse is the best value in Seoul. I have stayed in three other hostels in Hongdae so I have some basis for comparison. I am an older guest so I like the "hotel" set up rather than staying in a converted house. The six person dorm is huge! I would say two or three times the size such dorms room typically have. One bathroom for six people makes a big difference. Some hostels have two bathrooms for the whole house and the house may have three six person dorms and
