This was my first stay in a hostel and I was very impressed. If I ever make my way back to Peru I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Hospedaje Turistico Recoleta again. It's a great place!

The whole staff are so nice, friendly, helpful. This is a very clean place. I've just spend very nice days in there.

Everyone was warm and welcoming, and gave us mate de coca upon arrival. We had had problems with our luggage, and the staff voluntarily went to the airport to look for it the next day while we were in Machu Picchu. There was breakfast included and they made the beds, and they refused all the tips we offered them. The hostel is full of little mementos from around the world and also from the Andean culture. It was the quaintest, coziest hostel I could imagine. I would definitely stay there again.

The staff was very considerate, doing things for me like arranging tours and loaning me a plug adapter. The hostel is quiet, away from the plaza, without being too far away (about a 15 minute walk). The hostel itself is quite pretty, adapted from a family home. There is limited wifi access, and an internet cafe in the same building otherwise. The area feels very safe and I always felt comfortable with my fellow guests. Oh, and I can't express how nice it was to have warm, good pressure showers!

We (4 of us) stayed there one night. We were pleased with the hospitality of the owners, they sent a taxi to pick us up and offered us tea on arrival. The room was cheap but the shower was missing half the faucet, only the hot side worked :). The tub wasn't clean either. I ended up using the shared bathroom outside in the hallway which was much better. Also the room was not very clean. If I were to do it again I wouldn't stay there. Even though it is cheap, I am sure you can find a better pl

This was an excellent hostel. We were leaving for the inca trail the next day and it was a great place. The breakfast in the morning definately hit the spot and during our trail we were able to store some of our extra stuff for free. After the trail we returned for one more night and Javier helped us book our bus tickets for the next morning. Great place for sure!

Very nice, quiet hostel. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious and clean and these were the best beds we´ve had in South America.
