Great hostel, one of the best I've stayed in anywhere in the world. The location is great and the people are lovely. The only problem was there was some building work going on next door so it was a little noisy in the morning but nothing too serious. I would definitely advise you to stay here!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, the location was very convenient being on the Gran Via, it was quiet at night, very clean, the bathroom and shower were very nice, plenty of hot water, and the method of entry (using a set of keys to access the front door of the building and our personal hostal room) was easy to use, and we felt safe knowing the front door was always locked. Also the old fashioned elevator in the building to get up to our floor was very cute and added character to our overall experience! We would definitely stay here again!

A very nice, clean hostal with spacious private rooms, and a fabulous entrance hallway and lift (shared with other inhabitants of the building). The enjoyable stay was only marred only by the local builders starting work at around 8am. No communal facilities but when staying in Madrid, you don´t really need them!

We enjoyed our stay at Hostal Santillan. It was very nice and very clean. The private bathroom was well stocked with soap, shampoo and bath/shower gel and towels. It was very helpful that we could leave our suitcases in the hostal after checking out, in order to walk around Madrid bag free. Muchos bueno.
