This hostel is a good value for the money, but next time I\'ll spend more money. Of all the hostels I\'ve been at, the staff here in England, had the most difficulty... understanding English. They weren\'t particularly helpful! There was a strange kid who burst into my room in the middle of the night, as the door didn\'t get locked. It\'s got a good vibe though, generally, and is close to a tube station.

The only real downside to 639 is the location. If you are a tourist looking to backpack, then you may want to find a hostel closer to central London. If you are looking to take advantage of the Tube (which we eventually did), it is across the street from one of the stations. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the hostel contains a nice TV room complete with a snack bar and Internet (although sometimes it can be tough to get on the computers, especially when one of the employees keeps hogging one simply for leisure). The beds are not the best quality, but overall, staying at 639 is worthwhile.

Out of the many hostels I stayed in over my holiday, this was no doubt the worst one. The staff was incredibly rude and unhelpful, and they are the biggest bunch of penny pincher's I have ever experienced in my travels. I have much more ranting to do about this hostel but I'm not going to waste your time, I'm sure you get the point. If you're thinking about staying here, please think again!

Cheap so I guess you get what you pay for. I was bitten by a SPIDER in my bed! Woke up with a big red welt. Pillows were flat and useless. Rooms were dingy. People were creepy. Shower was en suite with an open top and no light which made showering when anyone was asleep near impossible. No safes. Terrible location----outskirts of London. Pay a few pounds more and stay at ISH.

I was very impressed with Hostel 639. First because of the perfectly convienent location, being right in front of the tube. Second because we were put in a room smaller the nexpetced with a shower and no carpets on the floor. It really helps with humidy. It was clean and the breakfast was good and all guests seemed happy and jovial.

1. Rooms Filthy 2. people shouting and yelling, laying football in the coridor and that at 10:00 in the evening which carries on untill late night 3. no security what so ever of any kind, anybody could just walkin to any where stab someone and walk away 4. how would you imagine yourself breathing in a romm with built in shower and all windows and door closed 5. no lockers available to keep valuables inside the room safe and you are expected to pay £1.50 for a special locker downstairs 6.

The beds were terrible. You could feel every spring in the bed. The location wasn't that great. The staff was friendly though, which is nice.

Good for one or two nights and if you do not want to spend time at the hostel during the day. There are a lot better hostels in London.

I only stayed at the hostel for one night but it was a perfect stay. The breakfast was included and has unlimited toast, cereal, juice, coffee and tea. The bed was surprisingly comfy and not at all noisy. Not too many beds in a room which was nice. The place could have been cleaner but I think fine for the price! Shower in the room was slightly awkward, bathrooms down the hall.

It´s worth it to stay here. The price is good and even though it is 30min. away from the center it is so easy to get to it.
