After having a much less pleasant experience with a hostel in Rome, I was nervous about going to another hostel in Vienna, especially since Hostel Hutteldorf had received some previous bad ratings. I do not know who wrote those ratings but the hostel must have changed since then. I was so pleased with this place. It was clean and spacious, the people were helpful, and there was a good free breakfast in the morning. The location is within walking distance (max. 7 min) of the Metro which will take you directly to the city center. And the staff at the Hostel let me store my luggage there for an entire afternoon after I had already checked out of the Hostel. I would have stayed longer if I had not already bought a ticket for Germany.

Clean, roomy, with lots of hot water and facilities. Slightly lacking in the cosy and warm hostel feel, but it's more than adequate in terms of a cheap place to crash for the night. I'd stay there again.

I think would be of great help if you included in your directions that one can catch a bus outside Huttledorf railway station directly to the Hostel. I walked fron the station with one large suitcase and one overnight bag. It is a difficult walk uphill and I suffered in pain for 24 hours. I also think the ambience would be improved if smoking and drinking alcohol was in a seperate area to the main reception area. I enjoyed the safety and cleanliness of all facilities

We loved Hostel Huttledorf, it is in a great location, close to the subway so you can get to almost any part of the city via subway within under 15 minutes. The only thing we did not care much for were the showers, they could be cleasned a little more.
