Cheap hotel (2 stars), nothing special but if you are looking for private rooms it's excellent. About 40 minutes from the center (Chatelet) by foot.

This place is much more of a hotel than a hostel so not sure why it's even advertised on here. But it's a great little places which is a few metro stops away from most attractions (and about 10 mins away from the biggest porn shop area if you're in to that!). 2 small warnings - if you get up late they don't clean your room; and the 5 Euro breakfast isnt really worth it (take a stroll to nearby boulangerie instead for a far tastier and cheaper alternative). Would recommend for a cheap student holiday or similar, but if you have the money look elsewhere.

It was a great hotel!! Our room was big and very nice, and it had a huge bathroom, it was great.
The location is very good, it has a metro station really close, and a supermarket too. The staff was nice and helpful. We recomend it

Really enjoyed our stay in Paris, the hotel wasnt in the very centre but the metro was brilliant and close by. Rooms were comformtable and clean, good value for money. The Montemartre area was a great place to stay, with alot to do and loads of cheap places to eat and shop. Would go again!

old, sad, NOISES... the staff is not friendly at all (they are in their sixties and they have no idea about Paris life)
The room was the smallest I´ve ever seen with papers under the bed and hairs under the pillows...
The window did not close... the atmosphere in general is depressing... It´s OK if you ONLY want a roof over your head

Our experience at Hotel Camelia is bad service at its best - hotels with decent service will not let you stay for two days and on the third day, for no rhyme or reason, DEMAND that you pack your stuff and move to another room. In fact, they wanted us to PACK OUR STUFF INTO OUR LUGGAGE IMMEDIATELY so that they can move our luggage for us at later in the day. You have to consider that Paris is our last stop, we are staying there for 4 days and obviously we would have unpacked all our stuff for a nice stay after trying staying pack-ready for earlier part of the trip. It was only after we made a fuss that they allow us to directly transfer our stuff to the new room without packing them into our bags again.
Apparently, they had to move us because another family needed to occupy the room which we were originally in. It was conveyed to us when we first checked in that the room was bigger than the double room we ordered, but the person who checked us in actually reassured us that it's ok, "the room is just for you, no one else will share it", yet two days later, they drove us out. And into a room that was just occupied the day before ( a wine bottle was by the bedside when we moved in), so it was pretty obvious earning last minute bucks for a family who probably booked later for the room than us was more important that their guests' convenience and DIGNITY. This is the first time we had experienced this, getting chased out of a room after two days and forced to move to another room.
After we actually moved, we demanded to speak to the manager to hear what kind of explanation they have, they said he will only come the next day morning. So we went down the next day morning ( we were hoping they would give us a satisfactory answer so that we actually do not have to write this review), and they guy there said no the manager is not here, he will come at 1 in the afternoon, you can stay till then to see him if you want. So obviously, they are not interested in explaining themselves to us at all, so we can only assume now that we have been EXTREMELY unfairly chased out of our room, with no proper explanation given.
Bottomline, DO NOT CHOOSE THIS HOTEL.. It has bad service, the management has unethical practices, and they are not even apologetic for what they have done. Besides what they have done, general cleanliness in the hotel also leaves much to be desired, our hotels and towels have never been changed for once in our hotel, (except if you count the time they made us change the room), and our first room was musty, dusty and they toilet and towels had a bad smell. I repeat, DO NOT CHOOSE this hotel.

Clean and tidy hostel, the staff are friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately there are rooms with one only window facing to a narrow and covered yard. No chance to see the sky plus very noisy, esp. at night!! You hear all noises from people on the other floors plus bathroom shower/toilet sounds from straight opposite.
Quite strange!!
