Really great hostel just north of the Duomo. No breakfast, but free linens, towels, and two computers with free internet that were usually not too busy. Staff was exceptionally nice and really tried to make your trip great. Many showers but only one was in a full bathtub - so head to the far corner of the first floor to grab it!

The staff was very kind and helpful, and the room was very clean. The shared bathrooms weren't immaculate, but that goes with the territory. Our only real complaint was that the restaurant downstairs was quite loud at night when trying to sleep, so request a room on the back of the building if you can. Great location, too.

Riccardo is the friendliest and the best staff person I have come across. He even drew on the map places that we should visit and where to get great risotto or which bars to go to at night.

This place was great. Almost like a bed and breakfast with hostel prices. I highly recommend it!

Not a bad little place in all. About a 10 min walk from the station, more if you have to lug a heavy bag. Dont be frightened by the flights of stairs to get up to the hostel, its worth it. The staff are really lovely and very helpful when recommending decent restaurants around town. There are no kitchen facilities or lockers so may be a pain for the budget traveller but there are plenty of nice and cheap places to eat around the place. Would stay there again.

There is no lift for this hostel. There will be some difficulties if your luggage is heavy. Staff are helpful. Room is clean. Worth the price!

It was our first "Hostel" experience and we were not disappointed. The positive points are the remarkable cleanliness of the rooms and the cordiality of the staff. For train travellers the location of the hostel is great, since it is near by the main station, although the neighbourhood is not as beautiful as the rest of the city. Furthermore, there are 2 computers available for free internet usage, what a feature! Nevertheless there were 2 negative aspects: the hostel is in the second floor and only accessible by a narrow staircase and the furnishing of the room was a bit inapproprate since there was little space left to move around the room after placing the bags. In summary we had a very pleasant stay at the hostel and would choose it again for our stay in the region.

Hotel Sampaoli was a comfortable central location to stay in Florence. It is a basic clean simple hostel that has all the necessities. Staff was very nice. You have to walk up 2 or 3 flights of stairs to get there. SHowers are hot and no breakfast is included. Also, no bunk beds, beds are lined up next to each other. I was very comfortable.

It was great to have bathrooms in some of the rooms, along with free shampoo. I felt very safe and clean here, and it was my first time in a hostel alone!
