I thought the hostel was unreal, I really enjoyed it, good atmosphere and really nive and clean. Only thing is there arent proper walls only dividers so you can hear everything from the other guests, but I do highly recommend it!

Very clean and convenient place to stay with friendly staff and secure luggage storage. My only (small) complaints are about the front door which does not automatically lock and the rooms whose walla don't go all the way up to the ceiling making it possible to hear every noise made by about 20 people. Other than that, it was a great place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone going to Tokyo.

the privacy was very poor.

Great place overall! However, the provate rooms are actualy partitions with a 2 foot gap from the ceiling and you can hear everyone else and their light shines right into your room. But it was still a nice place to stay, very cheap, and the staff are the best! Overal I recommend it!

it was a bit cramped, but the people were great and the vibe was very cool. Met some awesome people!

Bit noisy. You can hear every sound made on the entire floor as there are no solid walls, just partitions that dont reach the ceiling. Not much good if you need to sleep and drunk people keep coming in til 3am

Stayed 3 nights, first night was the only not satisfies night because of the noises from the other people, but I really enjoyed staying Khaosan Tokyo Annex. Really close to Asahi tower (for beer!) and traditional temples... Thank you!

My first stay at a hostel anywhere and it was great at the Khaoshan Annex. The location in Asakusa is accessible by 2 subway lines which makes it a bit easier to stay then most areas. There are also several attractions in the Asakusa station area.
Hostel was also clean (since it's fairly new) and kept clean daily by the staff. Free internet was also a big plus.
Perhaps the only downside is that the location is far away from Roppongi so if you party and stay past 12am the Metro closes and it's a long and expensive taxi ride back. Alternatively you could just wait until 5am (clubs do stay open until then) to catch the morning train back.
Overall, though excellent value. Would definitely recommend.

The location was very good. The prices on the large dorm room were quite good. It was very cold outside of the sleeping room, so it would probably be better in the summer or spring.

Khaosan Tokyo Asakusa Annex is by far the best hostel I've stayed at. The staff is very helpful, friendly, and accomodating, the facilities are clean, and there's always welcoming feeling about the place. I definitely plan on staying there again during my next stay in Tokyo, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a very reasonably-priced accomodation in an otherwise expensive city.
