I didn\'t like this place since you don\'t get a key to the door to your room. They did have lockers \'available\' for a charge of 1euro, but they didn\'t have any keys for the locks. Other than that, the location was good. They close the kitchen/common room at 11pm

One of the best hostels I´ve ever stayed in! The elevator in the foyer is hidden off to the right, so you don´t need to trudge up the stairs with your backpack. Light, airy, and very clean. The "lights off at 11pm" policy caught some of us off guard, but isn´t a bad idea really!

This place has a great location, but is not a nice place to stay. You have to pay extra for anything you do: store your luggage, use the internet, have bedsheets, etc. It is located on the fourth floor and there is only a tiny elevator that barely fits two people without luggage. The staff were ok. We had a group of school children staying at the hostel who were very rude and made a lot of noise all night. You do not get a key to your room, it stays in the door so anyone can come into your room at any point. The bathrooms and showers were ok, not the cleanest, but not horrible.

It really helps when you walk into a hostel and the staff are friendly and helpful, it changes your whole perspective of a place if you are greeted poorly and without enthusiasm! I wasnt entirely happy with the friendliness of the staff!

Los Amigos attracts a fabulously diverse and fun-loving group of both clientele and staff. Although the shoestring staff worked tirelessly the whole time to keep the place clean and fun, they were always ready to chat about life in the city in both english and spanish and they were quick to remember names and faces. Every day I woke up next to other fun travellers whos stories and jokes cured the worst hangover and kept me perky despite a ever growing sleep deficeit. The location is brilliant: half a block from Madrid's outstanding metro, and a few more blocks from Plaza Puerta del Sol, The hip modern 24-hour heart of the cuidad. Unlike many other hostels which require their guest to carry their worldly possessions up many flights of stairs, Los Amigos has a small Elevator. A few notes: Although they offer guests their own alarm clock, none of these clocks actually work, so if you actually need to get up in the AM you'd best bring your own. Vending machines and front desk do indeed offer wine and beer here, but it's far cheaper if you go to the 25 hour store toward Sol. The only phantoms of this opera are usually found around 11 am after embarking upon one of the semi-weekly pub crawls offered by a Los Amigos affiliate. If you there por los noches de meircoles o domingo, you just might be one of them.

Really cool hostel to stay at. Try to go on Wed or Sun to go on the PUB CRAWL which is awesome! The bars they take you to can be a little pricey, so plan to spend some scrilla (or just get wasted pre-game). The location is right in the center of everything and the common area is pretty large with lots of couches, tables, etc. Would def stay again!

This place is a little away from the very busy area but its very convinient for sightseeing. everything is walking distance and stuff thats not is accessible from the train which also right next to the hostel.

The location was great. Avoid room #4 though, it is TINY! They also do a great job of keeping the place clean and enforcing quiet hours.

Good hostel in walkable distance from Sol and other stuff in the centre of Madrid. Nothing negative overall. Recommended

A little noisy. They should change the double doors of the rooms, they make a lot of noise if your try not to do.
