Really a great place to stay in Madrid. Only downside is that the showers are mixed, so ladies, bring something to cover up!

this hostels is absolutely AMAZING. everything is great the location the shower the common room the staff etc... Go there without any hesitation!
On of the best hostel i ve been during my trip through europe. Friendly, colourfull, great location and the staff is really really nice... Its clean, the breakfast is ok, you can smoke in the living room... Excellent.

typical backpackers hostel... friendly and fun with arranged evening events such as parties and bar crawls. can however be noisy due to location and noisy if people come in late at night.
The best rooms (the quietest ones) are ##11,12 and 13, and these it seems are kept for some privileged quests. I tried to change my bed in a noisy room to some in these rooms and got a answer that all beds in these rooms were already reserved, which was not true. During my stay in the hostel it was mostly Japanese who got the privilege to sleep there. Do they deserve better rooms? The Opera is a good hostel and can be recommended without hesitation.
