Recipie for great Hostel. One Bucket (30 Litres) 20 x cheap red wine 2 x bottles of gin 8 x oranges 2 x lemons 1 x pineapple 1 x bottle of sprite. Mix altogether in bucket, squeeze juice from fruit and leave in bucket. Add dozens of Australian, Irish, Brazilian, Canadian, American and yes even french. Party.

Overall a great place to stay. Common area is nice, but the rooms are a little small in comparison to other places. Great location. I would stay here again.

Surprisingly well equipped and organized. Everything is very easy from the first day to the last. Nice people to meet. Rooms are a bit tiny but alright. Would always come back.

I´ve stayed at many hotels in different counties and had no problems. Mad Hostel is simply disgusting... very dirty and smelly. I could barely stand to sleep one night. Do NOT recommend to anyone.

A great hostel. The lockers are great and the staff is amazing. The only negatives I can think of are simply just realities of staying at a hostel.

Really good place to stay! The rooms were clean and air conditioned. Only thing was they were a little small. The hostel was in a great position and a short walk from everything in madrid. Cheep beer and guests are allowed to use the bar in the Cat hostel too! Overall a great trip and would definately go back! (oh and really good donuts for breakfast!)

Vending machine next to room 10 is a great pain to the occupants. It should be re-located away. Because the loud noise from the dispensing beverage and chatting of people who purchased the drink, have continuously awaken us in the night, esp in ~4am. Thanks for looking into it. ciao!

We stayed in a 4 peoples room, which was very small. The kitchen is quite chaotic (not too usable). The breakfast wont fill you up (it's just cafe+croissant). They sometimes have special activities (we had a flamenco evening - pretty nice). The showers are not too good. But the security is good, as you have a personal locker controled (as every door in the building) with a digital lock.
