I had a great time staying at the Nobel Hostel. And my 3 bunkmates made the trip even more rewarding. The staff was excellent. The hostel is in a great location so you can pretty much walk to everything. I would definitely stay there again. Thanks for the memories!!

As far as I can tell, the Nobel Hostel is very good by the standards of hostels in Sultanahmet -- (not that I would recommend Sultanahmet enthusiastically, but where else is a tourist to stay in Istanbul?). Andres, the almost permanent resident, serves to guarantee an interesting conversation in the small lobby at night. The bathroom situation is less than ideal, but it is very inexpensive and in

Good location, great terrace on roof where breakfirst is served. We had a double room which has own outdoor compartment which is covered and has inside modern A/C. Bathroom would need a shower curtain to avoid inundation from taking a shower! The vincinity to the blue mosque can disturb your sleep at around 5am when the muezzin calls for a prayer from dozens of megaphones at the minaret. But I doubt you will hear it much less anywhere else in the neighbourhood.

Takes a little to get used to the showers. The beds were comfortable enough. This is NOT a party hostel, which was a welcome relief on this particular trip.
