Convenient, clean, inexpensive place to stay in Tokyo. Decent amenities. Free internet access, coin lockers, coin washer and dryer, and kitchen make it easy to take an extended vacation on a low budget.

I was very impressed with Oak Hotel and the staff. Having stayed at some pricier hotels in Tokyo in the past, my private room was just as good at less than half the cost. The management of Oak Hotel recently opened a bar just down the street, which is a great place to hang out at night and meet others from the hotel. Everyone speaks English, and the free Internet in the lobby was a big plus.

It appears to be a traditional Japanese business hotel. They make the room daily and even provide clean robes. It is near a subway station and approximately half way between the points of interest at Asakusa and Ueno, approximately 10-15 away walking.

Great place - like a basic business hotel at hostel prices. Comfortable room, very convenient location. A welcome break from the usual backpacker joints. Will definitely stay again.

This is a pretty nice hostel, quite near the central Ueno station, and is overall pretty cool. One major drawback though is that the beds are extremely uncomfortable- i had read this in other comments before i came here, and chose to ignore it- but it is something you really should consider- they leave you VERY sore and lead to a broken nights sleep.

Not fancy but very good. Just one block from a subway station and 4 blocks from a train station that conects you with Narita airport makes it very convenient.

Oak Hotel was great! The rooms were nice and clean, and the staff at the front counter spoke excellent English and were very helpful. My only complaint was a noisy water heater in my room-so bring earplugs!
