The Peking International Youth Hostel is a wonderful place. The staff is extremely helpful, going out of their way to assist in booking trips and helping me contact friends in Beijing. The location can't be beat - it is two blocks from the East entrance of the Forbidden City and two long blocks from Tiananment Square and the subway. I can't say enough good things about it - I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Great Hostel! not much more i can say, the staff is really helpful planning out any trips or tickets you may need to get. My only beef was that is was far away from the olympic venues. Awesome stay though.

We really liked the place, but the staff --although always helpful and responsive -- were somehow not very welcoming. Also, it would be nice to include some chinese food on the menu. We often saw the staff eating what looked like delicious chinese food that was not on the menu.

Excellent place to stay! Very friendly and helpful staff. Central location, 5 minute walk to the forbidden city etc. Relaxed common room and great internet services and food served. Clean rooms. The great wall 8km hike was physically tiring, but amazing! Unrestored section, hardly any people on it. Would definately recommend and stay here again.

Great place to stay, but a bit more expensive than the other hostels I have stayed with in China. That being said, they have the best location - and the best shower I have had abroad in any country. I liked the staff, but I was given inaccurate directions twice. One wrong bus number cost me almost an entire day going in the wrong direction. It is my fault for relying on the front desk for directions, but I feel obliged to mention it here - be careful.

I don't think that there is a better place in this price range. We had a two bed room with own bath and it was perfect.
If i came back to Beijing one again, I would choose it again.
