We stayed in this ryokan for one night. After reading the reviews, I had expected much more even though I already knew the location was not ideal. This ryokan is definitely a newer ryokan, at least the double room with it's own private bathroom that we stayed in was newer. The room was tiny, and so was the bathroom. That was not a problem for us, however the paper-thin walls and people coming and going loudly at all hours of the night was indeed a problem. We had the worse night's sleep our last night in Tokyo because of the noise.

I really liked the gardens. It was like a little oasis in the middle of Toyko. It was very relaxing place to come back to after a long day of city trekking.

Definitely a great place to stay. Takes about 30 minutes to get anywhere of interest, but it is in a quiet neighbourhood and very nice. We stayed in three places and this was our favourite!

The setting of the ryokan is great (beautiful waterfalls, bridges, and plans), but the rooms of the Kangetsu Annex were a bit smaller than I had expected. For two nights, the place was perfect, but if you're planning on a longer stay, you may want to look into booking a larger room.

Not much English spoken, but they are nice people and it is a very comfortable place to stay, you will enjoy every minute here, lounge with many channels, travel books, Vending maching, massage chairs, good surroundings, and Laundry, I give it a 5/5

This place is what it says it is. Tt is a little out of the way, but you wouldn't want a place like this in the middle of the city. It has wonderful inside and outside onsen (spa-like bath) and several places to sit and relax. So its a wonderful place to unwind after a day in the city.

Too bad the place was not on the JR Line. So I had to get extra train tickets to go on the train to/from hostel. Good thing is that they have internet in the room. Just hook up your laptop and cat5 cable, and you're good to go. Just remember to bring a cat 5 cable. Too bad it didn't have a clock in the room. But you can borrow one from front office.

Off the bat, the location was a bit awkward. It was off the main paths of Tokyo and while conveniently located to get to Kanagawa (for Kamakura) and Yokohama, actually getting to the ryokan from loopline Tokyo was the tricky part. But in the end, I really appreciated it because it was darn quiet in the area and after a long day of temple-hopping and sightseeing, this was greatly appreciated. The area is very quiet, clean, and definitely worth the out-of-ways feeling. The staff could not speak very much English, but that was perfectly alright, since they made up for it with their attempts to be a friendly as possible. Very clean, very very quiet. The rooms are exactly how advertised, though the bathrooms were a huge plus, considering how pristine and clean they were. The outdoors bath (women only) was basic and useful enough. Excellent internet usage and TV/music available for those wanting to wind down. Overall, I thought it was a great place!

A little out of the central city - about 30 minutes, but 1 minutes walk from the train station. Provides a number of suggested day trips at the counter, with train/tube directions and is very friendly. Tatami mats and Japanese Baths provided
