the only choice i had during the christmas vacation. they charged extra fees for paying by credit card, and the blanket as well.
but i think it s still the best choice for people who love the beach.

Be careful when you mention the address of this place to taxi drivers. I had to ask 4 before one knew where it was. Just say Barceloneta, and maybe they will understand. The bathrooms were clean, breakfast is provided (a nice one!). the beds are alright. they only give you a sheet and a pillow cover. i had a sleeping bad so it kept me warmer. storage spaces are provided, but BRING YOUR OWN LOCK! after checkout they will keep you bags for you. This hostel is like a 3 minute walk from the beaches waters, so thats nice.

My flight to Barcelona was cancelled and therefore I called the hostel in the evening to ask to postpone my reservation. The guy at the reception was quite unfriendly and told me that I will be charged anyway. If I would like to make a new reservation I should do it by internet!

Great location IF you want to spend time on the beach. Far from sights and nightlife and city center. Staff was very helpful but theres not much social atmosphere here. Rooms don't have a full wall so you can hear all ajoining rooms.

Great place to stay. Super close to the beautiful beach, but be careful at night.. not the safest city.. but as long as you're careful you should be ok. :) Hostel was great, just too bad it didn't have a central foyer where people get together to drink.. not too social in that way.. but then again.. there's the beach.

No windows in the 7 bedded mixed dorm we stayed in... Half a meter from the wall ends to the ceiling - as another person has written; it feels like staying in a 34 bedded dorm! We had problems sleeping unless we were drunk, both because of noise and the heat. No atmosphere at all, but absolutely great location! You don't find it any better.

... we only stayed for one night so can't say anything about fun... didn't like the fact that we had to buy padlocks. but the location was excellent and the people were nice.

I had one of the loft bunks, which was really high and annoying to get in and out of, not to mention th elocker wasn't big enough for my bag to fit in, so I didn't feel my stuff was secure at all. It was also dirty up there and i can see why the cleaning staff wouldn't want to go up.

Although the staff were very nice and very helpful we were a bit dissapointed by our personal items security. In the 7 person dorm we were staying in (which was right next to the back door, which opened out onto an alley) a number of the room lockers were busted open so we had nowhere to safely store our belongings. In a hostel which is essentially one big open space with partitions this wasn't so good. They were also unable to give us a key to our room which meant that we had to get one of them to let us in each time. Stray key? Location was great. Beds comfortable.
