This is a really nice hostel with a friendly and helpful staff. The location is ok: we walked to all of the major attractions with no problems. The breakfast is delicious and the rooms are really clean and nice.

A great hostel for the money ($22/night!) First the good: PRICE, REGGIE who speaks fluent english and can help you get anywhere or anythign you need in Paris. The security is a little lax. There is no place to lock up your luggage / backpacks so be sure to bring locks. There is one key per room so the last person out takes it to the desk and locks the door behind them. The place was clean but the bathroom had some mildew. All things considered I think I would go back but maybe in a private room.
what can I say....but fantastic!! One staff member in particular was BRLLIANT!!...and if you visit, you shall know who it is...great kitchen facilties if you know how to use the microwave!.....cheap wine next door!!...rooms upstairs much better than down stairs though...some stranhe whalesque noises due to water in pipes, but all in all...a brilliant stay, recommend this hostel..very clean, great breakfasts (crap coffee though)..and again, great guy at reception if he's working!!

I will probably be coming back to Square Caulaincourt in a couple of weeks because it worked for me so well.
the breakfasts were excellent, the bar had a great atmosphere n the staff were extremely helpful n friendly! the only thing that would have made everything perfect would have been an extra sheet on the bed as the blankets were kinda prickly! but otherwise one of the best hostels i've stayed in! :)
