I really enjoyed the Hotl Caulaincourt; perhaps this is due to the fact I got to stay in the stellar room 16. It has huge (almost floor to ceiling) windows which span the entire wall, which looks out onto Paris. Definitely request this room if you can. Also, it has a shower (with a tub you can bathe in!), toilet, sink and blow dryer in the bathroom. Really enjoyable.

Great place! The staff is really nice, the rooms are clean, the breakfast is good, the area is nice and quiet... I showed up a day after I reserved my first night, but didn't have to pay for the first night, even though they reserved a bed for me. Recommended!

I visited in late May. The location is a rather long walk, up many, many stairs, from the metro station, but the hostel is in a beautiful part of Montmartre, with lots of shops and bakeries nearby. Take the elevator at the metro station to avoid walking up about eighty stairs with your bags. There are usually kids hanging out in the lobby. I arrived alone, but spent a lot of time doing things around the city with the girls in my room and drinking cheap red wine downstairs. The view from the rooms on the top floor are beautiful, but you have to walk up five flights of stairs to get there! If you have a really heavy backpack, try to stay on the lower floors. They have a lock-out for a large part of the day, 11-4, if I remember correctly. All in all, there were some annoying parts of my visit, but I would definitely stay here again.
