Thought there would be information on local tours the hostel participated in/advertised. Looked on the bulletin board and what was listed was bus routes (always a good thing). It would have been nice it tour info was posted out there too.

The location is only great if you want to stay at the beach. to go to hollywood takes you about two hours by bus and metro.

About the location: perfect if you are looking for a beach resort, poor if you want to discover the rest of LA. Staff very nice but breakfast very poor.

When I arrived at the hostel and looked at the room and the shower room (there's only 1 shower for each floor) I was absolutely shocked at how high the ratings on hostels.com were for this hostel. There are "ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS," but I checked out after the first night because it was that bad. Major problems: 1. Bug in my bed 2. 1 filthy shower per floor 3. 1 filthy bathroom per floor 4. Hostel is DIRECTLY above a club! I was awaken at 10:30pm by the loud bass beat, and couldn't get back to sleep til after 2am because of the noise. 5. Office did not open at time specified on schedule. 6. Refusal to refund. They offered to give me a 1 night credit instead. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. DO NOT STAY HERE.

If you are a girl be aware that the male workers at the hostel will try their hardest to sleep with you, but then again I guess you get that at every hostel. Because of this the male workers are dicks to any of the male backpackers.
Hostel is very far out from most attractions even though its right on the beach! We had a drunk old woman staying in our room which was a little scary! Rooms are really small with rickety bunk beds and no ladders. Bathrooms were disgusting! The reviews on here are not a true reflection of this hostel!! Only good thing is staff were quite friendly!

Great spot for the stereotypical backpacker. Dont expect accomodation for the Queen, but its a good laugh! Right on Hermosa beach, pretty sights too!

Amazing place
The whole place shakes at night because the bar music below. Some of the staff is really cool, others are not so friendly. It is far from Hollywood and Santa Monica so rental car makes a difference, just be prepared to pay a lot for parking if you can find it.

great location but noisy at night as it is located above a bar.very clean hostel but is lacking the social side.music at night would be a plus so people could mix and have a few drinks.top spot!
