One of the staff members is an asshole and everyone there the nights I stayed were treated like shit by him. All of the other staffers were great and more than friendly. The rooms were fine but the shower was dirty and the set up sucked-- they definitely need a hook for a towel. I would stay here again only for the bar and not if the same staff member was there.

The hostel was extremely noisy and it was nearly impossible to go to sleep before 4 am. The bar was enjoyable. The bathroom and showers were outdoors and not very clean. Towels and sheets cost extra, but the breakfast (bread, coffee, and juice) was free. The doors to the rooms were glass and did not allow much privacy at all.

Pros: Very patient and likable staff. Good location-- the area is nice to walk around in. Cons: The hostel is set up like a summer camp. All rooms surround a central court yard which doubles as part of the bar at night. It is NOISY. You can't get away from it. I hardly slept the first night I was there (a Tuesday), making the next day unpleasant. Also, most of the toilets don't have sinks in them, so you can't wash your hands afterwards. There are sinks in the rooms, but if, for example, you go to the washroom in the middle of the night forget about cleaning your hands because you have to turn on the light, which you can't do when you have other people in the room. Since most of the sinks aren't where the toilets are, assume every single surface in the place-- especially door handles -- is covered in bathroom gunk. The showers and sinks all work on a push-button timed faucet. Although the water temperature in the showers is good, it only runs for about a minute and a half before it stops. Mighty annoying. Also, there aren't enough hooks in the bathrooms, especially those in the room on the left on the top floor where there is NONE and water gets all over the place. If you like sleep, don't stay here. If you like to wash your hands after you go to the bathroom, don't stay here. I would not recommend the 3 Ducks hostel.

Great location, but the place is a dump overall. Very dirty place and it can get loud at night. It's nice having a bar right there if you want to drink, but everything is overpriced. The building looks like it was around during the French Revolution, and has had few updates since then.

While it was the cheapest available, the cleanliness, outdoor restrooms, and utter lack of security were a concern.
