I really enjoyed this charming hostel. I have traveled extensively and it is one of my top finds. Friendly staff and bundles of homespun charm. Definitely missing the occasional perk you get in some clinical, boring, soulless places (cooking area etc), and not the place to go for the centre of town. We actually quite enjoyed traveling a bit outside the bustle of downtown. Other perks instead: massive TV not shared with 1000s of travelers. 24 hour free tea/coffee/mineral water. Sitting room area. All-round not a bad stop off at all...

ATTENTION! these guys are 6 miles out of boston, they advertise online using the same address in Boston (36 church street) and claim to be in Boston downtown and when you get there it turns out to be a residential area, when I asked a resident she said I was the 3rd person today asking about this hostel, she called them liars and added they do this deliberately to get people make bookings online before they get to Boston assuming that they are gonna be at a good location, she also said she would complain with the local authorities. Secondly there was blood stains on the cushion cover, I asked for another one and it had blood stains as well. There is no guard rail on the upper beds so be careful not to fall while asleep and get seriosly injured; when I entioned this with the fat receptionist he said only kids would fall, he was very chicky! the beds were noisy so were the doors in the room. when one goes to bathroom at night everyone in the room wakes up..

Just thought you might like to know: on Google Maps (which is how I found out about Prescott) it looks like you are located in the downtown Boston area. Don't know if you can change that, but it would be helpful. I had some trouble getting here because of that.

I thought the hostel was a good place to stay for my budget in Boston. It's really not that hard to get to, as long as you're not pressed for time or have your heart set on staying in Boston. I'd visit again.

Sufficient is the word that comes to mind. Fairly clean, with a bit of "old hotel" character... The staff is great, but the manager is a live-wire/ticking-time-bomb so be sure to steer clear of any interaction with him. The neighborhood isn't too bad, so you're ok walking back late at night. Just don't wander too far into Everett if you're out late alone. It's far from Boston's city center, so know that you'll pay $20-$25 from any of downtown areas after 12:30am. A couple of decent computers for internet... Older people wander around the hostel often, but seem to be ok other than the occassional cigarette request. Poor ventilation so be prepared for stuffy rooms or open windows. All in all, not TOO shabby.

I am pretty satisfy with this hostel besides the fact that I was awaked by the noise out in the hall of my first night. Staff were really nice and they are really helpful on showing me directions.

My daughter (who loves Hostels) commented on the bed being prison cots rather than hostel beds - very sad for this price - would not go back there

Good hostel if slightly out of the way. Staff are disorganised but helpful. But worth a visit!

DO NOT STAY HERE. Owners overbooked leaving people without beds on 2 of my 3 nights, swear at guests repeatedly (really!), it's dirty, far from Boston, no kitchen, no lockers, TINY rooms, things are falling apart. I'm going to report them to some kind of accommodation board ASAP. One of my WORST hostel experiences ever. Please do not give them your business.

Friendly staff & clean facilities. Good internet access. A bit out of town though (about a half hour bus & train). Hostel was quiet so got a dorm (& ensuite) to ourselves which was good. Would return.
