good enough for john lennon, good enough for me

I had some trouble finding the place--I missed my bus stop the first time around. (The directions said to take the bus to Church Street, but I'm 95% sure the bus only stopped at Church Street on the way back towards the Orange Line, not on the way out.) Once I got there, everything was just great.

The hostel seems ancient and I think this adds to the charm although some reviews noted the poor maintenance in some areas. I did not mind it at all though. It is a real bargain and it is definitely sanitary. The location is laid back, accessible by the MBTA bus but not at the center of activity. There is an excellent common room and I enjoyed the stay very much.

A bit of our center but well worth the quiet. I stayed here 2 nights mid-week April which is admittedly slower. Great staff, great fellow travelers and I found the subway/bus ride easy to accommodate and well worth the peace of being able to leave my window open and still have a quiet night.

You have to be a little lighthearted to stay here. It wasn't bad by any means but definitely isn't what most people are use to. It was a little trek from the T but once you learned the routine with the bus it wasn't bad. It was worth a giggle and really was worth the price.

Steve was exceptional. He gave great recommendations for food and drove a bunch of us to the subway at 5:30 in the morning so we could run the Boston Marathon! Awesome!

Arriving at the original Prescott Hotel and being driven to a different location was a little disconcerting. More information about the new property on the website would be useful.

This is the best hostels that I have ever been to. It has character, it is super clean, and the staff is nice and extremely helpful. Though it is a little bit outside downtown Boston, it is easily accessible by public transit. The fact that it is a little bit outside the downtown core, gives it a more relaxing vibe after a full day of visiting. I highly recommend this hostel. Note: When taking the 104 or 109 bus from Sullivan Square station, look for Mansfield St. to get off as oppose to Church St.
