Good and very party oriented hostel. Pub crawl and parties and the hostel was great. Nothing to really complain about.
Right of of Powell street where the cable cars run and excellent shopping, this hostel has some real character. From the lounge area downstairs to the lobby, its really easy to settle in here. Kitchen could use some work but its never that busy so there is always room to cook.
GO ON DYLANS TOURS!!fantastic location...Right next to union square! had a fantastic time, i was travelling on my own so was scared i wasnt going to meet anyone but i was proved wrong and met soo many lovely people!! I have made soo many friends for life! i am writing this whilst in the usa hostel in hollywood and the san fran one has so much more character. Here the staff are really stuck up and unhelpful. Great hostel a good 9/10 from me
USA hostel was a fantastic hostel, possibly the best I have ever stayed in. It was very clean and comfortable, with good size rooms. There was also lots of shared spaces, which made it easy to meet people. I would totally recommend this hostel.

the hostel is ongoing reparation but still with "do it yourself" aspect. in comparaison with international hostelling downtown it looked definitivly a second choice only

It would be great if the hostel provided bus schedules.
I really enjoyed my stay in a private room. There was LOTS of noise at night; I believe we were right next to or over top of a night club. Other than that it was very satisfactory!
