We really enjoyed the Stella Villa. It's convenient to Venice proper, but is in a quiet and leafy neighborhood. The "fun" part of the rating was hard because we went there specifically for quiet, not for fun. I think their garden must be quite lovely and a "fun" place to relax in the summer, though. It also felt secure in the sense that it's in a quiet neighborhood.
Excellent place. Great Student discount, private bathroom, the boatride to get there is beautiful.

The ONLY negative for this hotel is its location. The island of Lido is a 35 minute boat ride from central Venice. Granted, one only has to do this ride twice each day, but one must also plan for the entire day and not rely on returning to the hotel for supplies, rest, etc... That said, the rooms were VERY clean, the bathrooms were newly rennovated, and the staff was charming. Breakfast was above average for hostel fare. I'd return again because the price far outmeasures the distance. A great value.
Dommage qu'il n'y ait pas de chauffage dans la salle de bain, sinon la decoration etait tres soignee, l'accueil tres bien, et le petit dejeuner un vrai regal.
