a little bit gritty but otherwise clean. good place for the money - great location since boston is so small you can walk virtually anywhere and when you're too tired, take the T.

i checked out l day early. i was told you would issue a credit to my mastercard of $50.00. after 9 days no credit has been received. why?

Very nice staff and facilities were wonderful (Internet access, weight room, views); Location was incredible. Towels were good; bed was ok; Wish they had liquid soap dispensers instead of bar (others were leaving them around in the shower). No air conditioning but large fans are available. Great room for the price!

Great location, but very basic. If you're looking for a cheap room in a good location in Boston this is it.

the staff were not at all helpful and some were rude. the rooms were like prison cells (as they are reduced rate student housing during the school year - which is not stated on the internet), the 2 showers only had a curtain dividing them - which is not good if u do not know the person showering next to you. and on our final nite we came back to our room to find a mouse waiting for us. also not all the room doors lock, so make sure u check before leaving your room. p.s do not stay here!!

There was no light switch in my room, which I found a bit strange, and the room didn't smell too good.

employees are rude and inconsiderate to customers.. our door lock was broken.. they would only tell us we were locking it wrong. we slept with chairs against the door.

I was woken up by someone who pounded on my door, claiming to be security, demanding entrance to my room at 2am. He was holding a half drunk bottle of beer. There was no phone to call security. Disturbances continued until 4am.

rooms looked like jail cells. never book a single room and expect a twin bed, we still got a bunk bed. our beddings had stains and the room hadn't really been cleaned before we entered. we didn't really expect a fancy hostel, but this one shocked us. we did not get what we paid for!

The YMCA is in a fairly good location in what is a very walkable city. I was, however, disgusted at teh behaviour of some of the residents in the hostel. We walked in on two men having sex in the communal showers. And everytime we went for a shower, a man came in trying to look at us. it is an understatement that spoilt our stay!!
