This hostel was definitely one of the best hostels that I have stayed at. Great common room! Location is right near a subway route. Free internet is great. The place was really clean.

The 10 person dorm is a nightmare, the beds suck, one of my traveling companions developed hives everytime morning. The location is ok, but not great. But mostly the main guy at the front desk when we were there was totally unhelpful and uncooperative. I did appreciate their DVD collection.

A short walk to the train station, but otherwise a good place to stay. The front desk staff were very helpful. I would recommend this place highly.

I originally chose the Tokyo Hostel because I was only looking for low cost accommodation. I was pleasantly surprised. As soon as we arrived we hooked up with a group of people and went out to Shibuya. I hadn't even taken my bag to my room. I can only say my experience at TIH was amazing. It's all in the people you meet. I made a lot of friends there, people I still keep in contact with, and the staff was friendly, too.
I'm already planning for my next trip to Japan and I'll definitely be staying at TIH again. For my trip to Japan, staying at TIH was the best decision I ever made.

I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and friendly this hostel was. I highly recommend it; especially if it's your first trip to Tokyo. The only drawback is that the trains in Tokyo stop running at 12am and starts again at 5am. Most of the cool bars are in other (far away) neighbourhoods. But there's a good community of travellers here and very helpful staff.
