The staff went above and beyond my already high expectations for hospitality in Ireland. The extra-effort was obvious through the free BBQ and the movie night. By far, the best hostel in any of the eight countries that we have stayed in.

The hostel had a good vibe and some good lounge areas - and FREE internet access. I had trouble with a very drunk male in my room and they were more than happy to move me for the night. Its a bit run down though.

Free access to internet-connected computers. This is a great thing.

We were greeted by unfriendly staff that were not interested in showing us the hostel or even letting us know how to get to our room, bathroom, showers, ect. I was not expecting 5 star treatment by any means. I have stayed in several hostels before and have always felt more invited and welcome than I felt when I walked into Marlborough. The showers were not clean and there was only one toilet working at the time which I find odd in a place that seems to be booked to capacity.
