nice place in a great location....well as great as you can get for guate city which is a bit of a dump. complaints: breakfast wasnt free and staff did not speak A WORD of english. who runs a hostel without knowing a single word of english?

The staff here is so patient with non spanish speakers, they do not speak english, but they were very patient with us. There is a club next door which has pretty load music until about 2 am. If you are out till then it isnt a problem, but if you want to sleep its a bit loud. We also could not figure out how to work the deposit via hostels.com so we ended up paying en extra 15 dollars for the stay.

You should think twice about staying here if you don't speak any Spanish, the staff will not help you out. Good luck when trying to explain a payment of a 10 percent deposit through hostelworld. The hostel itself is very small and resembles a family home in looks and sophistication. It's in Zona 10, which is the nicer area but personally I wouldn't go back to this hostel or Guatemala City. Both of which are depressing. Certainly nothing of interest lies therein.
