Very friendly staff and great location

We felt the staff were nice until they found out we had already booked our tours with another company. They weren't very welcoming or helpful when answering general questions. The 'free' breakfast was very poor. We went all day with no water in our room but this could be down to a water cut in the area. Rooms and bathrooms were nice and clean and the satalite television was a bonus.

Booked this place on a recommendation from a friend's friend - terribly disappointed! The hostel is in Hanoi's Old Quarter, but not really close to the fun parts. Also, the rooms were dusty, and the toilets seemed a little dingy. The best (worst) part was the girl at the reception, who hogged the free Internet to chat on MSN! Amazing. We switched to a much nicer hotel (Hong Ngoc) which was in a better location and offered a much much better room.

The staff was unhelpful and hogged the internet terminals that were meant for staff. In the day, a female staff would be on the internet all day using MSN Messenger and surfing entertainment websites. She made my friend, a guest at the hostel, wait 10 minutes when he asked to use the internet. At night, the staff's friends would come to the hostel and play online games on the two computers. My friends and I had to wait half an hour before they let us use the terminals.
